Jeezy Arrested at Atlanta

Rapper Young Jeezy was pulled over by police in Atlanta, GA Wednesday and arrested for various driving violations. TMZ was the first to report that Jeezy, real name Jay Jenkins, was booked charges including driving under the influence, speeding, reckless driving, and failing to provide proof of insurance.
According to Public Affairs officer Ronald Campbell, Jeezy was pulled over on Buford Highway around 2:20am, driving a white Chevrolet Corvette with temporary tags. He was then processed at the Atlanta City Jail, and was released around 6:15am after paying a $4100 fine. The 30-year-old Def Jam rapper was hit with a total of seven charges, AllHipHop confirmed.

“Last night, at approximately 2:30am, Young Jeezy was pulled over by the Atlanta Police Department shortly after leaving the studio to work on his new album The Recession,” Young Jeezy’s lawyer Scott Leemon told AllHipHop.

“After being charged with various automobile related offenses, Jeezy was quickly processed and released,” he added.

Jeezy is due back in court July 17.
