Plans to Release Bond Theme: Amy Winehouse

It looks like Amy Winehouse is still having a bit of a strop after being passed over in favour of Jack White and Alicia Keys in the choice for the new Bond film theme. Amy was the hot favourite for the gig, having recorded a song with Mark Ronson for the upcoming ‘Quantum Of Solace‘ movie, until producers noticed she was unable to string a sentence together and seemed addicted to visiting the nearest hospital with a revolving door.
Well, unlike most things in her life Amy isn’t taking this lying down. She has told New magazine that she is determined to show the producers that they made a massive mistake in turning down the woman who can’t be trusted to turn up to her own gigs, never mind promoting the theme to a movie.

“I do think they could have waited a bit. If they want a worldwide hit I have them all up here [pointing to her beehive]. I guess they are going for clean-cut and boring. When I do release mine - and I am tempted to do it on the same day - this would be the bigger hit.”

‘Clean cut and boring’ aren’t words you’d usually impute to Jack White, but there you go. And is it really just songs keeping that beehive afloat or just masses of hairspray, dandruff and some performing acrobatic mice?

We should be thankful that Amy wasn’t in the limelight when ‘Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves’ was released. Imagine two versions of ‘Everything I Do’ hanging around the top of the charts for months…

too bad Winehouse lost that James Bond gig, she has a unique sound, would have done the job admirably
